A romantic dinner overlooking the Seine and Notre Dame? And, please!!

The first time I heard about La Tour d'Argent I was very young, had 23 years and I still remember the voice of my former brother Sybarite, delighting the whole family with the delicacies of French haute cuisine. That's when I told myself that someday end up having dinner at the top of that tower.

And as happens in the movies, Sometimes dreams come true. In the number 17 Quai de la Tournelle in Paris, I was a few days ago, in an elegant hall waiting for a uniformed elevator operator called me to accompany me to the top of the tower where the famous Parisian restaurant.

La Tour d'Argent es un restaurante imprescindible of Paris, which claims dating back to the year 1582 and it is said to be frequented by Enrique IV. Awarded a Michelin star, its cuisine stands out for its finesse in drawing, marked flavors and a remarkable consistency in the preparation of dishes. The duck, especially the duck pressing, It's your specialty “Duck in the press”, “Pressed Duckling”, “Duckling Tour d'Argent”. The refined dining room has spectacular views of the river Seine and Notre Dame Cathedral.

Before I bring the letter could not help me a picture in the dining room while watching the wonderful views and why not say, also the rest of the diners.

Since I'm not too fond of duck despite being the specialty of the house, I chose the menu “Philip Services Fantasy in Five”

In each of their tables decorative figurine of a duck is a symbol of the house, made in lampwork. They are all different.

Dishes happen one after another giddily, each more sophisticated and exquisite, while the waiter in charge of your table, I will explain in English or French the preparation thereof.

By nightfall the candles are lit., giving way to a warmer, more romantic atmosphere replete with the city of love as a witness behind the windows.

Why not here? Why not now? Is there a better place to dream than Paris?

Happy day,

Judith

Thanks for the sensible critique. Me and my neighbor were just preparing to do a little research on this. We got a grab a book from our area library but I think I learned more from this post. I am very glad to see such excellent info being shared freely out there.
